KidSing

The philosophy featured on this KidSing CD and developed by music educator Susan West, Ph.D., is that music-making is a child's birthright and the role of music education is simply to support the child's natural wish for musical involvement.

Developed within the Australian National University's Music in Primary Schools Program, this approach is the outcome of Dr. West's twenty-five years' experience as a performer, teacher, composer and arranger as well as her extensive training in, and research of, the holistic and therapeutic uses of music through the Institute of Music and Health under the instruction of John Diamond, M.D.

Her acclaimed Hand-in-Hand outreach program focuses on uniting schoolchildren and the community in shared, altruistic music-making, particularly in senior centers, nursing homes, hospitals, hospices and special care facilities.
